CLEVELAND

Web site on convention center

The Convention Facilities Authority launched an improved Web site this week, giving users a chance to discuss proposals
for a new convention center in Cleveland. The site - www.conventioncleveland.com - includes a summary of a PricewaterhouseCoopers study that analyzed the demand for a new center and headquarters hotel, a calendar of events, financing opportunities and layout options. Users can register for updates and post their thoughts on how a new center
would affect Cleveland and the region. The authority has 11 members appointed by city, county and suburban officials.
They are charged with picking the best site for a new center, finding a way to finance it and selling the idea to the public.
The group, which met Tuesday, also agreed to budget $15,000 to host focus groups with industry leaders to make sure
the center includes elements attractive to meeting planners and other potential customers.
